About Able To Change Recovery

How We Got Here and Why

Family-Founded & Mission-Driven

In 1999, Saralyn Cohen was faced with a choice. As she watched her own family members continue to struggle with mental health and substance use disorders, despite previous attempts to overcome them, she knew there had to be another way—a better way.

She could continue to watch from the sidelines or commit to being part of a revolutionary change so needed in this industry. Saralyn set out to create a new, reenvisioned mental health and substance abuse treatment program. One that provides a cost-effective solution for the highest quality care that is in-network with insurance carriers to make recovery more accessible to those who need it most.

With an emphasis on restoring lives, rebuilding families, and improving communities, Able To Change Recovery is a beacon of hope and healing in the Southern California region. Our program maintains a standard of excellence with integrity, dignity, and premium care. Saralyn’s philosophy is that a person in recovery can live a worthwhile life. And that life starts here at Able To Change Recovery.

Our Treatment Programs

We offer two separate tracks for recovery: primary mental health and primary substance use disorder. No matter the challenges clients face, we’re well-equipped to identify and address each one holistically, offering innovative, evidence-based treatment, support, and education.

Our treatment programs and network of providers span a full continuum of care with schedules that run six days a week.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Our IOP program empowers clients to reintegrate back into daily living without sacrificing intensive care. Operating several days a week, clients can return to daily work, home, or school routines and continue their treatment.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

This primary level of outpatient care is for both mental health and substance use disorders. It offers daily intervention, support, and engagement and is where clients build a foundation for a life with greater balance and free of substance use.
